Some of South Africa's finest players played at HM Pitje, Odi and Charles Mopeli Stadium, but the condition in which these venues are in, is shocking.
Just a few years ago some of these stadiums hosted big Premier Soccer League matches, but they are now white elephants in a sorry state. The municipalities in the areas have ignored taking care of these venues and it does not help that there are no clubs using them, nor events taking place.

Mamelodi Sundowns have previously played at both HM Pitje and Odi Stadium, hosting big clubs such as Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and their Tshwane rivals SuperSport United. In fact when Sundowns lifted the title in 2006/07, they lifted it at ODi Stadium. There were talks that HM Pitje Stadium would be refurbished and possibily used by Sundowns again in future, but no work has been done on the venue.
Pictures recently emerged on Twitter of Charles Mopeli Stadium, which is no longer being used by Free State Stars, who hosted some of the giants of South African football at the venue.

Another stadium that has been in a poor condition in recent years is Mmabatho Stadium, which has hosted the Soweto Derby and Telkom Charity Cup in the past.
