Two PSL Rivals Eye Sera Amid Pirates Talk

Two PSL Rivals Eye Sera Amid Pirates Talk

With speculation linking former Royal AM striker Motebang Sera to Orlando Pirates, Siya sources have now revealed that at least two other Betway Premiership clubs are seriously pursuing the Lesotho international – indicating he could well end up at one of Pirates’ rivals.

Sera, currently a free agent following the well-documented situation at Royal AM, is attracting mounting interest ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

While Pirates have been linked, insiders close to the player have now confirmed that Cape Town City and Chippa United have made concrete enquiries, suggesting the race for his signature is wide open.

“Motebang Sera will be playing in the PSL next season – that much I can confirm,” a source close to the situation told the Siya crew.

“He’s a free agent now because of what happened at Royal AM, and that’s put him on the radar for quite a few clubs. His representatives have been fielding a lot of interest. Right now, it’s just a matter of weighing the options and choosing the best move.”

According to information gathered by the Siya crew, Cape Town City are particularly eager to secure Sera’s services as they prepare for a possible promotion/relegation playoff battle. The urgency on their end could see them push for a deal to be concluded sooner rather than later.

“Cape Town City have made it clear they want him immediately,” the source added. “They see him as someone who can help them in their current situation, especially with the playoffs looming. But Chippa United are also very serious. They’re looking to bolster their squad for next season and see Sera as part of that plan. Talks are ongoing with both teams, and a final decision is expected soon”

With multiple suitors showing intent and negotiations progressing, Sera’s future appears set to remain in Mzansi’s top flight – but just where he’ll land remains to be seen.
