Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari is facing a crucial career crossroads as he weighs up his future with the Soweto giants.
Just under a year since his high-profile arrival at Naturena, the Rwandan international is reportedly unsettled due to a lack of game time and is said to be considering a request for release from his contract.

Ntwari, who joined Chiefs on a four-year deal with a one-year option in July 2024, has found himself down the pecking order behind Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen.
He hasn’t featured since November, when Chiefs suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout – a stark contrast to the bright start he made earlier in the season.
The 24-year-old started the campaign as the club’s first-choice shot-stopper, making five appearances in the Betway Premiership and two in the Cup.
But since then, he’s slipped out of the matchday squad, despite remaining a regular for the Rwandan national team.
Now, sources have revealed that Ntwari is growing frustrated with his situation, but those close to him are urging patience.
“Chiefs is a big team, and the boy (Ntwari) knew going there that it won’t be easy. I’d say it’s frustration (that makes him consider leaving the club), but that doesn’t mean he has stopped working. And that doesn’t make him a bad player suddenly,” a source close to the player told the Siya crew.
“He is being encouraged to fight for his place. He’s got a long-term contract with the club.”
When Chiefs announced his arrival last year, the club’s Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. praised the goalkeeper’s pedigree and welcomed him as a valuable addition.

Having been Rwanda’s undisputed number one, Ntwari's ambition remains high.
The coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether he pushes for a move elsewhere or stays to compete for his spot at one of South Africa’s most storied clubs.
