New Signings Recommended For Kaizer Chiefs

New Signings Recommended For Kaizer Chiefs

An appeal has been made to Kaizer Chiefs to bring in no less than 10 new players during the upcoming transfer window.

With Amakhosi's 2017/18 season left with only the game against Ajax Cape Town on May 12 before finishing, and again without a trophy in the bag for the Soweto giants for the third season in a row, the club is expected to reinforce the squad with new players in preparation for next season.

As confirmed by the club last month, Chiefs have promised a 'complete overhaul of the team' before the start of next season.

With Steve Komphela no longer the team's head coach, following his resignation after the club's exit from the Nedbank Cup, further changes are expected to take place at the Naturena outfit as a number of players are linked with an exit.

The club has already admitted that the season has not been up to their standard. Former crowd favourite for Chiefs, Junior Khanye, has suggested 10 players that Chiefs should consider signing.

Among the players on Khanye's wish list for Chiefs is Andile Jali, who is currently a free agent, and Mamelodi Sundowns' Oupa Manyisa.

Vincent Pule, who is understood to have already signed a pre-contract with Chiefs, out-of-favour Orlando Pirates midfielder, Thamsanqa Sangweni, also form part of Khanye's suggestions for Amakhosi.

"I would like to ask the management of Kaizer Chiefs to go and buy quality players for the team. Chiefs need no less than 10 new players that are capable of adapting to the team's culture and style of play," Khanye told the Siya crew.

"I understand that some of the players are still contracted to their teams, but they (Chiefs) should try and bring them on board. I would like to see Chiefs going back to their culture with the way they play. For that to be possible, they need players capable of making it happen. They must sign quality players and not the ones that are free," the former midfielder said.
