Maritzburg United have signed young forward, Deolin Mekoa, to strengthen the team for the 2014/15 season. According to a Soccer Laduma source, the 20-year-old penned a three-year deal with the KZN outfit.
The Wentworth-born player has been playing for Young Cavaliers FC in the SAB League in KwaZulu-Natal.
"Deolin Mekoa has signed for Maritzburg United. The club was interested in him and now the deal has been finalised," said the source.
Mekoa is a striker. He was previously with the School of Excellence in Gauteng before joining Cavaliers.
The youngster will be hoping to learn and gain the experience required at PSL level under the guidance of Steve Komphela at the Team of Choice next season.
Mekoa is one of the players that were spotted for Castle Lager's Together For Tomorrow's Bafana Soccer Development Initiative.
He was in the final 23 of players selected for the Castle Superstars in January.
Along with other selected youngsters, they played against clubs such as Orlando Pirates, University of Pretoria, SuperSport United and Roses United earlier this year.
