Bloemfontein Celtic secured their fourth straight Macufe Cup title, after beating Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at the Free State Stadium.
Chiefs enjoyed a good spell of possession in the opening stages, although they were restricted to long range efforts through George Maluleka, none of which trouble Ayanda Mtshali.
The visitors were presented with an opening in the 32nd minute when Maluleka picked out Siyanda Xulu in the box, however the defender failed to connect from 12-yards out.
Maluleka proved to be Chiefs' liveliest player on the park, as he pulled the strings in the middle of the park, while Sula Matovu showed glimpses of what he can do down the left flank.
Celtic, meanwhile, started off lively with the pace of Dumasani Zuma, but were chasing shadows for most of the opening 45 minutes.
However, the hosts nearly broke the deadlock just before the break when Tumelo Mogapi picked out Tshegofatso Mabaso in the box, but the striker managed to head over from six-yards out.
Both sides had chances in the opening five minutes in the second half, as Zuma fired into the side-netting, before Matovu blazed wide of the upright from 12-yards out.
Chiefs created another opening in the 52nd minute when Matovu did well to pick out Ovidy Karuru at the far post, however the winger directed his header into the side-netting.
The visitors continued to pile on the pressure as the half went on and they went close in the 58th minute when Bongani Ndulula headed over from six-yards out.
However, Celtic broke the deadlock three minutes later when Mabaso broke through the middle, before calmly slotting into the bottom corner.
Hendrick Ekstein, who had a quiet first half, nearly leveled matters in the 80th minute but his long range effort sailed just wide of the mark.
However, Chiefs struggled to break down Celtic, who held on for the narrow win and clinched the trophy for the fourth successive season.
