Mamelodi Sundowns further solidified their status as the most successful team in the PSL era by winning the ABSA Premiership title for the 2015/16 season by beating Tuks on Wednesday. Here, we take a look at the other teams that have enjoyed success over the years in the modern PSL era.
Since it was established in 1996, originally referred to as the Castle Premiership, the PSL has seen power swing from one team to another, with six teams winning the league title in it's first two decades. In comparison, only five teams have won the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga in that same time frame. However, it's apparent that some teams, like the newly crowned champions, have been a cut above the rest.
