Mayinga called it a day on the field of play in 2013, following a 16-year career in football. The former left-back spoke to Soccer Laduma's Lunga Adam in edition 961 and revealed the hilarious happenings at his first club, Tembisa Classic.
"You'd find that if you were signing a contract, it was done from the boot of a car and not in an office. We used to camp at Birchwood Hotel and those were the days when Jazzman Mahlakgane was a manager of that hotel. He was the one who made all the arrangements for us to camp there.
"My roommate was Idah Peterside, the pastor, but he wasn't yet a pastor back then. He was a motivator, though. As a youngster, I was surrounded by senior players like Taelo Motloung and Tumelo Mofokeng and they'd always give me advice."
He also had spells with Dynamos, Dangerous Darkies, Black Leopards, FC AK, Moroka Swallows, Sundowns and Wits.
Despite his retirement, the defender stated that he could still play, but due to the lack of honesty in football now, he decided to 'walk away quietly'.
