AmaZulu FC defender Philani Zulu hopes their impressive victory in the CAF champions League can kickstart their DStv Premiership campaign.
Usuthu are yet to secure a victory in the league, but they put their form aside to secure an impressive 3-1 victory over Nyasa Big Bullets in Malawi to advance to the second preliminary round.
Going to Malawi and scoring three goals has given the team something to work towards ahead of the derby against Golden Arrows, according to Philani Zulu.
"It was a great joy for us to win away in the CAF champions league after we lost at home, it shows that we did rectify our mistakes and gain lessons on what to do moving forward," Zulu said via the club's media team.
"KZN derbies are the most challenging ones, I just hope we will keep the CAF momentum even on this game against Lamontville Golden Arrows, because they also play good football like us and it won't be easy to come against them.
"It motivating to see us scoring goals again, i just hope we will keep finishing those chances even in the DSTV Premiership"
