Bidvest Wits CEO Talks Absa Premiership Prize Money

Bidvest Wits secured their first Absa Premiership league title in the history of the club last night and the club's CEO, Jose Ferreira, has revealed that the prize money will be shared among the team.

Just yesterday, Wits were two points ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns on the league standings, however, after the final whistle in last night's encounters, the Clever Boys went four points clear at the top and were subsequently crowned 2016/17 Absa Premiership champions.

The Clever Boys have now bagged R10 million in prize money, and the club's CEO, Ferreira, has revealed that the money is set to be shared amongst the team, however, the extent is yet to be discussed.

"Yes, we will be sharing the prize money with the team, however, the extent of it is yet to be decided. I will sit with the board and we will decide," Ferreira told the Siya crew.

Head Coach, Gavin Hunt, has pulled off a memorable cup double with his side, winning the 2016 MTN8 competition earlier this season and now being crowned 2016/17 Absa Premiership champions.

Securing the league title means that Wits have automatically booked their spot in next season's CAF Champions League campaign.
