A DStv Premiership club boss has opened up about bribery allegations made against his club and says he is willing to cooperate with the police to get to the bottom of the matter.
As reported by the Siya crew, local football coach and mentor Alpheus Thantsha has claimed that he lost in the region of R20 000 allegedly to Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane and the club's goalkeeper coach Naughty Lekgau in exchange for three of his young players to be accepted at the Limpopo club's DStv Diski Challenge team.
The club's chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has told the Siya crew that he is willing to cooperate with the police regarding the allegations as he doesn't condone any act of wrongdoing such as employees accepting bribes.
"We don't do that type of business and I told him (Thantsha) and again I'm telling you that we don't do police jobs. If one of our employees took the money from Alpheus Thantsha as a bribe he should report that to the police and not to me and if you as the reporter you are going to help him to open police case we will gladly appreciate that," said Mphahlele.
"We will not act on hearsay and why he didn't phone me before he gave bribe to my employees in the first place, but he wants me to get involved in his complaint? Baroka FC is not responsible for any corruption of our employees, and we will cooperate with the police on this allegation," concluded the chairman.
