Well that's Sunday done and dusted.
Hope whichever team you support got the business done for you otherwise your Monday is going to be a tough one no doubt. I hope none of you are Manchester United or Manchester City supporters ;)
Monday morning at the Soccer Laduma offices can be the best of times or the worst of times. We're all obviously very passionate about our football and I would say for the first hour of work we all give each other a hard time about the results on the weekend.
Now that we are all playing the PSL Predictor game and the EPL Predictor game on our site, Monday morning has become even more of a nightmare if you have had a bad round of matches. I hope you guys are all playing the games.
Talking about the EPL, I'm not a big Jose Mourinho fan, but boy when he moves the bus, that team can really play. I'm not a Chelsea supporter but I'm excited about watching their next game and purely because of the entertainment value I was given watching their game against Everton. And I guess that kind of backs the line of thought that if you play the right brand of football, even people who are not your fans will come to watch.
Getting back to the PSL and the theme of poor stadium attendance, thank you for taking the time to read the article I posted on Saturday. If you read it, you will see that those clubs brave enough to share their home average attendance this season so far don't really have too much to shout about. It looks currently like the average home attendance of a PSL club is around the 5 000 mark which when you consider the amount of money sponsors are paying to be part of the PSL, must surely have them wondering what the problem is.
Well, based on your feedback on this issue so far let me list what has come up as barriers to entry when it comes to filling PSL stadiums on game day. For those who are new to Supporters Club, it will also give you a chance to catch up with the conversation.
Reasons for low PSL attendance that have been put on the table by you:
* Ticket prices
* Travelling costs
* Travelling safety concerns after games
* Overall cost of the entire day
* Refreshments at stadiums are too expensive
* There are no refreshments at stadiums
* Game times
* Standard of football
* Lack of goals
* Unemployment
* Better to watch on TV where one can change channels and watch European soccer
So there you have the list so far as produced by you guys. If there is anything else you would like to add please let us know in the comments section below. Together we are going to fill up soccer stadiums in this country once again.
Get a good night sleep and lets go studs up into Monday!
Cheers guys
