Tshini!
The appointment of former Maritzburg United head coach Fadlu Davids as assistant coach at Orlando Pirates has pleased and surprised fans. While some are celebrating and rejoicing, others are unimpressed with the appointment.
Soccer Laduma reader Dladla Melusi Wiseman believes this is the perfect opportunity for Davids to grow as a coach, and that this could be the platform that earns him recognition and better coaching opportunities:
"Fadlu Davids will grow his knowledge as a young coach and will get that recognition he needs in terms of his coaching career. Thanks to Mr Irvin Khoza for giving these young South African coaches a platform where they can grow and learn a few things and go prove themselves elsewhere. In the next few years, I'm hoping to see (Shaun) Bartlett, Rhulani (Mokwena) and Fadlu taking stands on any top competitive leagues."

Davids' appointment will see him working alongside fellow assistant coach Rhulani Mokoena. This is a big plus for Igwe-Mmba Nkosipendule Acheampong, who reader feels that the pair will complement each other and that this can only benefit the Buccaneers technically:
"Tjooo, two masterminds in one team. What a technical team, Fadlu and Mokwena. Hahaha, Pirates will cause trouble on the African continent, I'm telling you. #upthebucs."

Although the news is being welcomed with open arms by some, not all are convinced of Davids' coaching abilities. Makgorometja Bogonogomakoma Ralokha is not entirely impressed with the appointment:
"What is so important about your Fadlu Davids? Because he failed to take Maritzburg United somewhere in the league."
