Mamelodi Sundowns announced the signing of former Maritzburg United midfielder Lebohang Maboe on Friday morning.
Supporters Club caught up with Masandawana fan Oupa Baloyi to get his thoughts on the Chloorkop club's latest signing, and he has a special message of the 2017/18 Nedbank Player of the Tournament.
"I could say I was expecting the arrival of Lebo at Chloorkop for quite some time, having read on Soccer Laduma about two months ago that he could be making his way to Sundowns, and he did," he said.
"I'm very happy that we have been able to acquire the services of such a versatile player. Although he played as a left-winger at Maritzburg, I know he can easily adapt to any position and we hope to see his versatility this season.
"However, it's going to be tough for him, considering the list of talented wingers Sundowns has, especially on the left. We have the likes of Ngoma, Lebese, Laffor and Zakri. It will certainly not be easy to break into the starting XI with that kind of list, but hopefully he works had enough to gain himself game time.
"Above all, Maboe is good signing and has quite a good track record. Last season, he was the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament and Promising Young Player of the Tournament. He also impressed in the COSAFA tournament recently. That just goes to show that he's a great asset for Sundowns.
"I wish him everything of the best at Sundowns. One thing he needs to bear in mind is that coach Pitso doesn't tolerate complacency. Lebo must work hard as the competition at Chloorkop is tough as it is already. He must maintain good behaviour, on and off the field. He must work harder than he did at Maritzburg."
