Let's take a closer look...

Comments

Kaizer Chiefs were shocked by Soweto neighbours Swallows in the DStv Premiership in a 2-1 defeat at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Maswai-swai all but confirmed their safety from relegation with the 'six-pointer', with Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane accusing his players of taking their opponents lightly on the day.

Zwane was left disappointed by Chiefs' slow start, conceding a goal in the first ten minutes. This recent loss sees Chiefs lose grip on Pirates and SuperSport in pursuit of CAF Champions League qualification.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Zwane Accuses Chiefs Stars Of Taking Swallows Lightly" story:

"Firstly, Zwane and Motaung Jr said the league will go down to the wire. Jiki-jiki, Chiefs will qualify for Champions League, then anything can happen. Lastly they are fighting for 3rd spot, It is not raining but it is pouring. Where is Bheminyama [Bimenyimana]?"

"Good evening Khosi Family. Firstly, I am not happy about the coach, always when we lost he complaines about the players. What is his job at the club? he killed all we have now come this weekend, same story, four goals we could've scored.

"Please Junior stop protecting Arthur, get somebody before it's too late," says peterkhosa12345.

"Zwane, you are not making sense. How do you become complacent when playing a team fighting for relegation? and you, a CAF Champions League position.

"Jelly Chavani must be on form this weekend otherwise you will be fired," says Fela.

"You can't coach, simple as that. Just leave," says mpsaul79.

"When will Zwane agree that his team tried all the tricks they can but Swallows was a better team? They were beaten fair and square," says Weissel A.

"It would be pleasing if Chiefs loses games with some seriousness, creativity, flair and maturity in the game. They play headless football, nothing shows they are serious about the game. Very poor showing," says smanana49

Sticking with the Glamour Boys, the club's recent defeat sees Zwane edging closer to an unwanted record of the club losing more than ten matches league matches in a season.

In inconsistent fourth-placed side has won 13, drawn five and lost ten in Mangethe's first full season in the hot seat.

Since 1996/7, Amakhosi have never lost more than ten matches in a league campaign, and another defeat is possible with two games to go, and their next fixture being second-place SuperSport United.

Here's how the readers responded to the "Zwane Edging Closer To Unwanted Chiefs Record" story:

"Eish, a lot of things need fixing there. Promote one exceptionally good youngster at a time, not 3 average youngsters at one go every season.

"The team needs to establish a solid home base. This thing of rotating your home games will not win you anything. Bucs and Downs have a huge following throughout South Africa as well but you will never see them playing their home game outside Gauteng.

"Should Chippa be relegated, I foresee Chiefs playing their home games at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. We are the only team in the world that's doing a Paul Young's 'wherever I lay my head that's my home,'" says gsithole.

"But he [Zwane achieved his mandate of making the top 8," says crronaldomphoza.

"10 loses equates to 30 lost points, which is too much for a team of Chiefs' stature," says Rio Da Khosi.
