Chippa United and Polokwane City will be fighting for the last remaining spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup when they clash in the last 32 on Tuesday evening.

Nedbank Cup

Teams: Polokwane City v Chippa United

Date: 14 February 2023

Venue: Old Peter Mokaba Stadium

Time: 19h30

Chippa have not been in action for ten days after last losing 2-1 to Stellenbosch, a defeat that left them lying eighth on the table.

The Chilli Boys had an impressive run in this tournament in 2021 after reaching the final but lost narrowly 1-0 to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila before they renamed the club to Marumo Gallants.

United, however, were knocked out in the first round last season after a 2-0 loss to second-tier side University of Pretoria.

Chippa will once again face a team from the Motsepe Foundation Champion in Polokwane City, who are lying second on the table, just two points behind Casric Stars.

Rise and Shine are also well rested as they also had a ten-day preparation for this tie after their goalless draw against Cape Town Spurs saw them drop down from the top of the table.

City were last in this tournament in 2021 after reaching the round of 16 before they were hammered 4-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Rise and Shine qualified for the last 32 after edging provincial rivals Black Leopards 1-0 in the second-tier qualifiers.

Here's how they line up:

Polokwane City: Sapunga, Matuludi, Ndlovu, Nkaki, Nikaki, Maphangule, Ramabu, Lekoloane, Baloyi, Marema, Nana.

Subs: Mathebula, Zwane, Baloyi, Mhlongo, Mokate, Buthelezi, Goovadia, Ntsoane, Thuto.

Chippa United: Nwabali, Mdunyelwa, Ntsabo, Banda, Mkhize, Maarman, Mathiane, Konqobe, Maphangule, Lebitso, Ighodaro

Subs: Kazapua, Chabalala, Luthuli, Poggenpoel, Mini, Kambindu, Mbenyane, Pfumbidzai, Kammies
