Nedbank Cup

Teams: AmaZulu v Orlando Pirates

Date: 13 April 2024

Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium

Pirates went through to the quarter-finals after thrashing Hungry Lions 4-0 in the round of 16 after a brace by Tshegofatso Mabasa, a goal by Monnapule Saleng and an own goal by Morena Monaheng.

After dropping points in two consecutive league games following the win over Lions, the Buccaneers bounced back emphatically, after hammering Golden Arrows 7-1 last weekend, courtesy of a hat-trick by Tshegofatso Mabasa and a goal apiece by Relebohile Mofokeng, Kabelo Dlamini, Sandile Mthethwa and Karim Kimvuidi.

The Soweto giants will be missing centre-backs Tapelo Xoki and Nkosinathi Sibisi, who are both suspended.

AmaZulu, on the other hand, booked their spot in the quarter-finals after beating Sekhukhune United 2-0 in the last 16 courtesy of goals by Junior Dion and Victor Letsoalo.

Usuthu were last in action last weekend after a narrow 1-0 win over Cape Town City thanks to a goal by Dion, in the league.

The sides have met once in the league this season, where they played to a goalless draw at the same stadium.
