Orlando Pirates start their Nedbank Cup journey against second division side All Stars at the Wits Football Stadium on Saturday evening.

Teams: All Stars v Orlando Pirates

Date: 11 February 2023

Venue: Wits Football Stadium

Pirates are on the rebound after Sundowns ended their three-game winning streak in the league with a 1-0 win a week ago at Orlando Stadium.

The Buccaneers, who have won this tournament only twice under the current sponsors and last won it in 2014, reached the last 16 in the previous season before being knocked out on penalties by eventual finalists Marumo Gallants.

Pirates will be without captain Innocent Maela due to suspension after he picked up his fourth booking against the Brazilians.

All Stars, meanwhile, qualified for the last 32 at the first attempt since they relocated to Johannesburg and renamed the club which was previously known as Cape Town All Stars at the beginning of the season, after hammering fellow second-tier side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 7-1 in the qualifiers.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship side have had mixed results since the turn of the new year in their bid to gain promotion, as they had to settle for sixth spot on the table after they were held to a goalless draw by Pretoria Callies last weekend.

Here's how they line up:

All Stars: A. Mtshali, Komane, Modise, L.Mtshali, Makobela, Nyembe, Baartman, Mofokeng, Sesane, Figuareido, Baloni

Subs: Peters, Mothibedi, Nkwanyana, Mphuthi, Hoala, Jesse, Makgalwa, Thopola, Ndwandwe

Orlando Pirates: Chaine, Xoki, Mthethwa, Mako, Timm, Mosele, Martin, Hotto, Dlamini, Saleng, Dzvukamanja

Subs: Mpontshane, Erasmus, Pule, Makhaula, Marou, Monare, Ndlondlo, Lorch, Monyane
