Sundowns set a new PSL record of the highest tally of points after edging Stellenbosch 1-0 on Saturday thanks to a second-half goal by Lesiba Nku.
The Brazilians reached 72 points, as they beat the previous record tally of 71 points previously held by the club under former coach Pitso Mosimane in the 2015/16 season.
The Tshwane giants also remained unbeaten and have two games left to become the first South African side to finish the league season without defeat.

TS Galaxy, on the other hand, ended their four-game winless run after stunning Orlando Pirates 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Sphiwe Mahlangu on Saturday.
The Rockets climbed up to fourth on the table, six points behind third-placed Pirates with two games remaining.
Sundowns were superior when the sides clashed last month after a resounding 3-0 win thanks to a brace by Peter Shalulile and another goal by Thembinkosi Lorch.
