Orlando Pirates will be aiming to keep their hopes of a CAF Champions League spot alive when they host Richards Bay on Saturday evening.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Orlando Pirates v Richards Bay FC

Date: 11 May 2024

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Time: 20h00

Pirates won their seventh game in a row after beating Chippa United 2-0 thanks to a brace by Tshegofatso Mabasa on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers won their seventh game in a row in all competitions as they remained third on the table, but they can only move second if they beat Richards Bay and Stellenbosch drop points against Moroka Swallows.

The Soweto giants will be without Thalente Mbatha due to suspension after an accumulation of yellow cards.

Richards Bay, meanwhile, missed the chance to extend their lead over bottom side Cape Town Spurs after a goalless draw against Polokwane City on Wednesday.

The Natal Rich Boyz are languishing second-from-bottom on the table, five points ahead of Spurs.

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit will also be missing Tercious Malepe due to suspension.

The sides played to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture, but a victory for Richards Bay will relegate Spurs to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
