Teams: Richards Bay v Orlando Pirates

Date: 04 November 2023

Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium

The Buccaneers booked their spot in the quarter-finals after beating Cape Town Spurs 2-0 in the round of 16 thanks to goals by Tapelo Xoki and Kermit Erasmus.

However, Pirates went on to drop points in three successive league matches, the last of which was a 2-1 loss to the same Spurs on Wednesday, who clinched their first victory of the season.

Richards Bay, meanwhile, sealed their spot in the last eight after edging Moroka Swallows 2-1 courtesy of goals by Abel Mabaso and Yamela Mbuthuma in the first round.

However, the Natal Rich Boys' struggles continued in the league after they were hammered 3-1 by Cape Town City last weekend, which was their third loss in four Premiership games.

Pirates had the upper hand in the sides' league clashes last season, as they beat the KwaZulu-Natal side 2-0 in the reverse fixture in Durban after goals by former striker Terrence Dzvukamanja and Monnapule Saleng after the first round clash ended goalless.

Here's how they line up:
