With Kaizer Chiefs set to return to PSL action this weekend, interim coach Cavin Johnson will make a big call in the goalkeeping department.

Amakhosi last played a Premiership match in the final weekend of November, when they beat Moroka Swallows 1-0 at Dobsonville Stadium, courtesy of a goal from Christian Saile.

In that game, Johnson gave Bruce Bvuma an opportunity to prove himself in goal and the Amakhosi development product kept a clean sheet, though he was not tested much by the Dube Birds.

Despite not being tested much, Johnson was impressed with Bvuma and indications are that the shot-stopper is likely to get another opportunity to prove himself, while Brandon Petersen watches on from the bench. The match against Swallows was Bvuma's first of the season and his second one looks set to come in the Premiership clash against Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium this weekend.

Experienced goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has been temporarily separated from the first team after disciplinary action was taken against him by the club, following an investigation into the claims that he had arrived to training under the influence of alcohol.

Currently in his final playing season with Amakhosi, the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has been stripped of the captain's armband.

Should he be given an opportunity to play against Rise and Shine on Saturday, Bvuma has an opportunity to stamp his authority and prove to the technical team that he deserves more game time between the sticks.
