EA Sports Predicts Correct World Cup Winner Again

EA Sports Predicts Correct World Cup Winner Again

For the fourth time in a row, EA Sports correctly predicted the winner of the FIFA World Cup.

EA Sports' FIFA 23 game simulator has struck gold once again by predicting Argentina as the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.

Check it out!

What's the story?

After publishing the results of their FIFA 23 simulator for the FIFA World Cup 2022, EA Sports backed a Lionel Messi-led Argentina to clinch the crown.

And for the fourth World Cup in a row, EA Sports have gotten it correct in their prediction for the tournament's winner.

Let's take a closer look...

World Cup predictor works for EA Sports

After a show-stopper of a final, Argentina beat 2018 winners France 4-2 on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw after extra time.

EA Sports accurately predicted the winners of the showpiece, running a 64-game simulation through FIFA 23. The simulation predicted Argentina to win the World Cup, but incorrectly predicted that they'd face South Americans rivals Brazil in the final.

Of course we witnessed a Argentina-France final but even then EA's game simulation wasn't far off as they predicted France to finish third.

After correctly predicting the last three winners in the 2010, 2014, 2018 editions of the tournaments, EA used HyperMotion2 Technology and they used their FIFA World Cup 2022 ratings in FIFA World Cup Kick-Off and Tournament modes to execute its simulation.

They also correctly predicted the Messi to walk away with the Golden Ball but incorrectly predicted the Argentine great to be the tournament's top goal scorer.

Messi ended up bagging seven goals at the Qatari showpiece, with the simulator tipping him to score 8... close enough.
