News reaching the Siya crew is that former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Romain Folz has landed on the radar of an African club.
Insiders have revealed that Folz is understaood to have made the shortlist for the head coach role at Young Africans.
Folz has steadily built a profile across the continent. After coaching Township Rollers in Botswana, he moved to South Africa in 2022 to join Marumo Gallants, becoming the youngest manager in the DStv Premiership at the time. He later had a stint at AmaZulu FC before being reassigned as the club’s technical director in 2023.
In the 2024/25 season, he joined Mamelodi Sundowns as assistant coach but was released alongside head coach Manqoba Mngqithi a few months into the campaign.
