Thabo Mnyamane has gone from trying to earn himself a contract with University of Pretoria to earning a spot on their backroom, the Siya crew has learnt.
The former SuperSport United star spent the last few months of 2023 training with the Motsepe Foundation Championship log leaders in hopes of landing a contract. In his last season as a player, he managed 19 appearances ,before picking up a nasty knee injury.
The 31-year-old had been without a club since parting ways with Marumo Gallants in July last year. The said injury has seen the left-footer spend over a year on the sidelines. However, he has now resurfaced in a different role at Tuks, where he first cut his teeth in professional football.
This publication has been informed that the club has employed Mnyamane as their performance analyst, where he will double up between the men's and women's teams.
It is unclear whether the Vaal-born man has officially called time on his career or whether he will use the time in the periphery to land what could be his final professional contract.
