When contacted for comment by Soccer Laduma, Chippa United Executive Director Lukhanyo Mzinzi confirmed their interest in Baloni. Mzinzi was asked whether it's true Chippa are interested in the services of Baloni on loan.
"Yes. But we are having a presser soon to announce our signings," Mzinzi responded to the Siya crew.
Insiders from both clubs indicated that talks are ongoing to finalise the loan move.
The sources added that the Pirates technical team is believed to have recommended for Baloni get loaned out to receive game time because competition in his position is tight this season.
"The deal is as good as done. Chippa have submitted all the needed requirements for the proposal and the agreement on the loan deal. Things should be finalised before the close of the transfer window period. Everything looks good, it's just a few loose ends which need to be tied," the Siya source stated.

A second Siya source stated that the technical team feels if Baloni stays at Pirates this season then he won't play as much as he would like.
"It's also about giving him more game time. Yes, he played a few games last season but the technical team has looked at the current squad and they feel with Thalente Mbatha, Phillip Ndlondlo, Miguel Timm and Makhehleni Makhaula, Baloni won't have much game time hence they have decided to loan him out and Chippa United are set to sign him on loan," the second insider stated.
