With SuperSport United not in a rush to sign Gift Motupa, the Siya crew has been led to believe there are other clubs in the Premier Soccer League monitoring the player's situation.
The forward, who parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns before the close of the January transfer window, has been training with Matsatsantsa for a couple of weeks, as he looks to bounce back after a disappointing spell with the defending champions.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma recently, SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt remarked,
"Gift is training. (There is) No money, no budget. He was overweight and has to lose some kilos. What happens is that they don't play for two years – out of condition and out on the side. He has been with us for about two weeks now, running hard.
"We are not going to do anything until the end of the season. We can't."
Waiting could prove to be a challenge for the Gachoene-born star, who wants to get back to playing after spending a long period without regularly competitive action. It's understood that Chippa United and Polokwane City have considered making a move for the free agent, with his fitness being the only concern at the moment.
With most clubs having players who are fit and playing week in and out, the forgotten man of South African football would have the added challenge of having to match those levels of fitness.
