Mokwena's move to Morocco is edging ever closer by the day, with a deal expected to be concluded imminently.
The Siya crew has been abreast of things, reporting on Wednesday that a possible delay in his arrival in North Africa was down to an administrative error regarding his passport.
Now, the latest regarding Mokwena is the reported matter of his salary cut to take up the job at Wydad.
According to Moroccan publication Al Akhbar, Mokwena reportedly put in an expectation of $40 000 (±R724 000) per month, while the club had proposed less than $30 000 (±R543 000) per month.
It is understood that Wydad AC president Hicham Ait Menna eventually broke down Mokwena's potential $30 000 agreement as a $22 000 salary (±R398 000) per month, plus grants and bonuses.
Reports indicate that Mokwena and Wydad talks are ongoing for a two-year deal at the helm, with an agreement expected to be reached soon.
