Another Pirate Set To Come On Board

Another Pirate Set To Come On Board

Orlando Pirates are actively enhancing their squad for the upcoming season, sourcing the services of a new midfielder from the Motsepe Foundation Championship, the Siya crew has been informed.

This follows the pursuit of goalkeeper Ethan Visagie, as the club also prepares for a comprehensive pre-season tour in Europe.

Siya sources within the club have indicated that 24-year-old attacking midfielder Thuso Moleleki from Orbit College is the player closing in on a move to Bucs.

"Xolani had signed for the team. He is joining from Orbit College. Yes, the talks have been going on for some time now and finally all the involved parties agreed on the move. The player will help add competition and depth in the team as they prepare to compete in almost all the tournaments on offer this season including the CAF Champions League," the Siya source stated.

Another insider highlighted the strategic timing of Moleleki's integration into the squad, emphasizing the importance of his participation in the upcoming European pre-season tour.

"They had to finalise everything before the team leaves for Europe because they want him to travel with the team for the pre-season training and camp in Europe. That's where the technical team will access all the players to see who will stay for this season and who will either still be released or loaned out. So, yes he could be traveling to Europe with the team in July," the source stated.

Moleleki, who is 24-years-old, was one of the standout players at Orbit College last season, and was quite impressive as a winger. His previous experience also includes a stint with Free State Stars before the club was sold to Casric Stars.

Moleleki is expected to follow in the footsteps of another former Orbit College winger, Monnapule Saleng, who performed exceptionally well for Pirates two seasons ago. However, competition for starting places will be fierce, with players like Deon Hotto, Relebohile Mofokeng, Katlego Otladisa, Vincent Pule, Patrick Maswanganyi, Lesedi Kapinga, and newly signed Gilberto all vying for positions in the line-up.

Moleleki's arrival at Orlando Pirates is part of the club's broader strategy to strengthen their squad depth and versatility as they aim for success in domestic and continental competitions. His expected inclusion in the pre-season tour will be crucial for integrating him into the team dynamics and preparing him for the challenges of the upcoming season.

Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
