Mamelodi Sundowns recently promoted a young defender to the first team, and insiders close to the club have indicated the 20-year-old is set to sign a senior contract.
The sources have added that the player in question is Malibongwe Khoza who is thought to be close to a contract for five years, until June 2029.

Both the technical team and management have seen that Khoza is one for the future and therefore the club is keen to secure his services for a long period of time.
"It's a concluded deal. I know he has signed a five-year contract until June 2029. No, it's an improved contract from the one he was using while in the DDC team. They are making sure that he stays at the team for a longer period of time. The technical team is happy and management led by Sporting Director Fleming Berg is also happy hence the agreement to give the youngster this five-year contract. It's as good as done as we speak," the Siya source stated.
Meanwhile, a second Siya source stated that the club is looking at promoting more young players to cover for the older, experienced players, particularly with having to participate in so many competitions.

"That's their strategy. They want to promote more players than buying more. Yes, they will buy some players but they want to profit from their youth development academy investments. And Mali (Malibongwe Khoza) is just one of them. They believe in youth mixed with experience and it's paying off for the club. That's why they have given him a five-year contract," the second source stated.
