Kaizer Chiefs’ chances of landing Steven Dese Mukwala appears to be slipping away, with Siya sources indicating that Moroccan outfit RS Berkane are now poised to secure the striker's signature.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Chiefs had taken significant steps in their pursuit of the Ugandan striker, including a personal touch from head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who met with Mukwala’s agent in Dar es Salaam.
However, it now appears that the Soweto giants are losing ground in the race.
Sources close to the situation have informed the Siya crew that RS Berkane’s formal offer of $300,000 (around R5.6 million) has tipped the scales in their favour.
With Simba SC chairman reportedly keen to drive up the striker’s value, Berkane’s decisive move may be enough to land the 24-year-old forward, who scored 12 goals and registered three assists this season.
Unless Chiefs return with a competitive offer of their own, all signs now point to Mukwala making a switch to the Botola Pro League rather than the Betway Premiership.
