Kaizer Chiefs are looking to beat interest from rival clubs by promoting their own youngster from their DStv Diski Challenge side, the Siya crew has been informed.

Amakhosi have been promoting juniors from the DDC to the first team and one of their players has received major interest lately.

The player in question is forward Siphesihle Tati whom the club could promote very soon to fend off the interest.

Siya sources close to Naturena have indicated that the 19-year-old has attracted admirers from at least two DStv Premiership sides.

Sources have added that Tati should join other youngsters in the Chiefs first team pending signing a senior team contract.

"The boy is a gem. If you think the other players promoted from the DDC are good then watch Sihle (Tati) play then you will understand how good he is. There have been inquiries from two PSL DStv Premiership teams and that's what has shown the club that he is an investment and hence the move to promote him.

"It could be at the start of next season because they want him to finish the season with the DDC side. But his promotion is as good as done and they want to make sure he plays when he is promoted and that they don't lose him to the other Premiership teams," the source told Soccer Laduma.

A second Siya source stated that the club wants to look to their DDC side for strikers from next season and going forward so that their investment pays off.

"This is an investment for the team. That's why they want to promote and keep as many youngsters at the moment and make sure that those players have game time with the senior team.

"Yes, it won't be easy but they believe in what the DDC team is building and that's why Tati is the next youngster the team is looking at giving a chance to in the senior team," the source concluded.
