With Black Leopards fighting for their lives in the Absa Premiership in matches leading up to the end of the season, one of the sought-after players from the club is expected to leave at the end of the season.
For some time, Leopards striker Joseph Mhlongo has been linked with an exit from the Limpopo outfit, with the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs said to be keen on his services at some stage.
The 29-year-old is nearing the end of his contract with Lidoda Duvha, with indications that negotiations for an extension of his deal have broken down, leaving the former FC Cape Town player with no choice but to assess his other options.
According to sources close to Mhlongo, Highlands Park have emerged as the latest club to show interest in the forward.
It is believed that the Lions of the North could look to do the same thing as last year with Marks Munyai, whom they signed on a pre-contract from Leopards.
