Orlando Pirates are set to give a young right back from their DStv Diski Challenge team a chance to compete with their senior players in the second half of the season, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, 18-year-old Jabulani "JB" Mokone was training with Pirates' first team and is on the verge of promotion.

Siya sources have now indicated that the senior team technical committee may have decided to promote the youngster and let him compete with right backs Thabiso Monyane and Bandile Shandu.
The sources have added that since the Carling Black Label All Star team game against Stellenbosch FC, which the All Stars won 2-1, and Mokone featured, he has never returned to the DDC side as he had been with the Pirates senior team throughout the Afcon break.
"For now it's as good as the promotion is done. Since that Carling Black Label All Stars team game against Stellenbosch FC he has been with the senior team. He is ready to compete with the players who play as right back. The technical team is happy with him and they want him to stay with the team until the end of the season," said the Siya source.
"Yes, it's their gain and the DDC has lost his presence. It has shown in some of the games they have played that his absence is felt. But it's good when you see the DDC youngsters being promoted to the senior team. That's the aim and purpose of the league and the teams there," the source observed.
A second Siya source added that DDC coach Joseph Makhanya had recommended that Mokone be promoted to the senior team.
"His is ready for top flight football. They didn't want to wait until it's too late and waste his talent and time. So the DDC coach recommended that JB (Jabulani Mokone) train with the senior team and if he does well, then to be prompted which had happened now.
"The boy is ready and he has shown during the time he has been with the senior team. He will give the senior players a run for their money which is good for our football ," the source concluded.
