Ethan Brooks' exit from AmaZulu has been explained, a decision which may have been a surprise to many.
Brooks was on a list of Usuthu exits recently after making 25 appearances in all competitions for the KZN outfit in the 2024/25 season.

In three seasons at Usuthu, Brooks made 83 appearances, proving to be a regular no matter who was at the helm.
With his contract officially coming to an end in a few days, there were talks over a new deal, but his agent Basia Michaels has revealed to Soccer Laduma that they were unable to come to an agreement.
"The thing with Ethan is that AmaZulu did not release him. We just couldn't find a balance contractually in what they offered and what we wanted," said Michaels, owner of QT Sports.
"Ethan loves the club and he appreciated his time in Durban. It was lovely for him to be in that environment, but we were at a point where we couldn't find each other. We had an impasse, and that's also okay in life. Sometimes it's okay to walk away in life knowing that we tried to create the balance but it just didn't work out.
"That's where we find ourselves. I do believe I can get Ethan what he is looking for. He's a brilliant footballer, no doubt. I have the faith that we can get this done."

Usuthu, meanwhile, extended the deal of experienced defender Taariq Fielies, while the likes of Bongani Zungu, Pule Ekstein and Ben Motshwari expected to stay on beyond June.
The club will make announcements on new signings in the near future.
