The Citizens have struggled in front of goal in their opening two Motsepe Foundation Championship matches, and it appears the club is working behind the scenes to address the problem.
According to Siya sources close to the situation, Bwalya, 30, has emerged as the man they believe can lead the line.
Bwalya is no stranger to South African football, having previously turned out for AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United, where his physical presence and eye for goal earned him recognition.
City are understood to be looking for a striker with experience in the PSL who can settle quickly, and the Congolese forward fits the bill.
While no signing has been confirmed at this stage, indications are that City have created space in their squad to accommodate him.
This publication has been informed that defender Nathan Fasika was sold to Chippa United, freeing up a foreign spot to allow the potential registration of Bwalya.
