Can PSL Clubs Outbid Saudi Interest For Zungu?

Can PSL Clubs Outbid Saudi Interest For Zungu?

The Siya crew has been led to believe that there is serious interest coming from Saudi Arabia for Bongani Zungu and PSL clubs will need to fork out big bucks to convince the player to stay at home.

Zungu announced his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday, bringing an end to a two-year stay with the DStv Premiership champions. The announcement came as a surprise, but the Siya crew understands that the decision was made due to a big offer on the table for his services.

The Siya crew has it on good authority that there is genuine interest from Saudi Arabia and it appears that it has sparked interest of the player who is looking to secure a big contract now that he has entered his thirties.

The Saudis have attracted some of the biggest names in football and have spent billions to have stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Ngolo Kante and Roberto Firmino in their league. Should Zungu make a move to the Middle East, he could set himself up nicely for retirement.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have previously been linked with the 31-year-old and his availability as a free agent now would no doubt have raised some interest from the clubs, as they are looking to beef up their squads to challenge Sundowns for the title.

Zungu would certainly not come cheap for the Soweto giants, with the player believed to have been one of the highest earners in the PSL.
