Soccer Laduma has been led to believe that Luvuyo Phewa may be on the lookout for a club yet again, with stiff competition in midfield at Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 24-year-old has spent the last season-and-a-half at now relegated Cape Town Spurs and, as confirmed by his agent Mike Makaab recently, he will return to Chloorkop when pre-season kicks off.
Even though he is expected to return to Sundowns to start pre-season, indications are that the Tshwane giants could allow Phewa to go out on loan again, especially with so much competition in the middle of the park at the club.
During the past season, the former Chippa United midfielder made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and contributing with three assists.
The former junior international missed the last 10 matches in the DStv Premiership as he was struggling with injury. He was not available to help Spurs survive relegation. While the Urban Warriors are interested in keeping the player, indications are that his camp want to see him playing in the top-flight again.
With Sundowns expected to go into the market to bolster their squad, the player's represent- atives are expected to engage the club about where the player stands and could start looking for a new home for him.
