Burkina Faso international striker Djibril Ouattara is likely to be offered to clubs in the Betway Premiership, with insiders suggesting that both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates among the teams that could be interested in his services.
The Siya crew has been informed that Ouattara, who is currently on the books of APR FC in Rwanda, could be an ideal fit for PSL clubs looking to sharpen their attacking options next season – particularly the two Soweto giants, who are both expected to reinforce their strike force during the upcoming transfer window.

“Djibril Ouattara is a quality striker with a proven record. He has been offered to clubs in South Africa. From January, he played 10 games and scored 12 goals and registered three assists for his club in Rwanda. That kind of form can’t be ignored, and a few people in South Africa have already started to take notice, especially with big clubs like Chiefs and Pirates needing reliable scorers,” a source told the Siya crew.
Both Pirates and Chiefs have been inconsistent in front of goal this season. Despite strong build-up play, neither side has found a striker capable of consistently delivering in the final third.
Ouattara, 25, is seen as a player who could bring direct impact and clinical finishing – something both clubs have lacked in high-pressure moments.
Chiefs are likely to undergo an overall rebuild and are expected to make several high-profile changes in the off-season.
The lack of a dominant number nine has been one of their biggest issues, and the signing of a striker with Ouattara’s international pedigree and recent form could be a much-needed solution.
Pirates, on the other hand, are also likely to be active in the market, especially with head coach Jose Riveiro’s imminent departure.
The Buccaneers have struggled to convert chances at crucial stages and may look to bolster their frontline with a sharp, mobile forward – a role Ouattara fits perfectly.
The 25-year-old is a regular for the Burkina Faso national team and has CAF Champions League experience under his belt.
