Following recent confirmation that Fadlu Davids is staying put at Simba SC despite swirling rumours, his agent Rasthoem Simons has now revealed that the Tanzanian giants’ coach was previously the subject of interest from Moroccan powerhouse Raja Casablanca.
Speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma, Simons confirmed that Raja made an approach for Davids last year, though the offer was respectfully declined.

“There was interest from Raja Casablanca last year under the previous president. We declined the approaches,” Simons explained. “Interest from a club like Raja is always admirable. The coach is, though, fully focused on winning the treble with Simba SC,” said Simons.
The revelation comes as Simba SC continue their strong push on multiple fronts, with Davids at the helm guiding the team in both domestic and continental competitions.
The former Orlando Pirates co-coach has seen his reputation grow significantly since taking over in Tanzania, with Simba’s recent upturn in form earning plaudits across the African football landscape.

While Raja’s interest highlights Davids’ rising stock on the continent, it appears his focus remains firmly on the job at hand as he eyes historic success with Simba SC.
Simons also previously dismissed reports linking Davids with a return to Pirates, stating that “there was no contact” with the club. This further underlines the coach’s current commitment to Simba amid external speculation.
