Percy Tau says it is only a matter of time before he displays his best form in a Brighton Hove and Albion shirt after making his Premier League debut against Manchester City.
The 26-year-old had South Africans glued to their screens for at least 67 minutes as he made his Premier League bow in his side's 1-0 loss.
Tau was impressive on the night, serving up some 'kasi flava' as he left City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko flat faced with a deceptive piece of skill, and he reckons it is only a matter of time before he finds his feet at Brighton.
"I need to adjust to the team and the league. With time I will get better as I understand the way the coach wants me to play more," Tau told Brighton's media department.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns man is confident that the Seagulls can build on their solid display at the Etihad, particularly in their upcoming match against Leeds United.
"It was a difficult game, but we did our best. We tried to create chances, but it was difficult to do that. We have to grow from this.
"We want to try and create more chances to score – you want those big chances in games, but we didn't make many of them against Manchester City.
"We can take positives out of this though and try and do better on Saturday. It was a good game, we did well, and it can only get better, it will only be a matter of time before we start getting those wins."
The match against City was Tau's second in an Albion shirt after he came on as a substitute against Newport County in their FA Cup win on Sunday.
