Wydad AC forward Cassius Mailula revealed his final decision regarding his future with the Moroccan giants.

The 24-year-old joined the Red Castle on loan from Toronto FC ahead of the 2024/25 season, under the guidance of Rulani Mokwena, and the forward enjoyed a successful stint in Morocco, playing alongisde fellow South African Thembinkosi Lorch.
While Mailula admitted he was open to a return with Wydad next season, the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker revealed he was calling it quits on his time in Morocco.
"Dear Wydad Family. It is with a heavy heart that I write this message as I want to let you all know that I will not be continuing with the team for the upcoming season," he wrote on Instagram.
He continued: "My time with Wydad has been an incredibly special and rewarding experience and I will forever be grateful for it."
Mailula extended his thankfulness to the club's staff, players and coaches for welcoming him.
"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. From the security staff, to the technical team, to my teammates - your kindness and support meant the world to me, You all hold a very special place in my heart," the South African added.
The Limpopo-born forward extended his gratitude to former Wydad coach Rulani Mokwena.
"Without his trust, I wouldn't be the player I am today," he wrote.
Mailula concluded by wishing the club all the best for the future.
"I wish the club, the fans, and everyone involved nothing but continued success in the upcoming season and beyond. Dima Wydad," he concluded.
