‘Section 10’ Assessing Options For A Return

‘Section 10’ Assessing Options For A Return

Thabo 'Section 10' Qalinge is assessing his options as he looks to return to competitive football after a long absence.

Qalinge has been without a club since parting ways with AmaZulu at the end of last season, having earlier went through some struggles at the Durban-based club.

Under Brandon Truter at Usuthu, Qalinge was at one stage sent to train with the reserve team along with ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick 'Pule' Ekstein, after they were deemed surplus to requirements.

While Ekstein has managed to remain with the KwaZulu-Natal giants and doing well under Pablo Franco Martin, Qalinge was allowed to move on at the end of his contract.

The former Orlando Pirates star is targeting next season for a return to competitive football, according to sources, although he won't turn down an opportunity that comes his way earlier than that.

"Section is ready for a comeback after taking some time off to reflect on his career. The quality is there, and everyone knows, so there are no questions about that," said the source.

"He is as enthusiastic as ever before and all that he needs is an opportunity showcase his talent. One of the reasons he has been away for some time is that he has been assessing opportunities from outside of South Africa. But with that taking some time to materialise, he is ready to further his career here at home," the source said.
