Pirates Expected To Add Mbatha To 'Well-Travelled' Team

Pirates Expected To Add Mbatha To 'Well-Travelled' Team

Former Orlando Pirates administrative manager, Senzo Mbatha

Orlando Pirates are reportedly making a significant move to strengthen their administrative team, with plans to bring back a former treble-winning administrator, the Siya crew has been informed.

Insiders have indicated that the Buccaneers are believed to be set to welcome home Senzo Mbatha, formerly known as Senzo Mazingisa, to work alongside their current backroom management.

The move is part of Pirates’ strategy to create a formidable and well-rounded setup, both on and off the field, as they aim for sustained success.

"What they are trying to do is build a strong backroom staff with well learned and travelled administrators and that's why they are also believed to be bringing in Senzo Mbatha. You know, if all goes according to plan they will have Senzo, Floyd Mbele and Mcebo Dlamini there working together for the good of the team. So apparently, Mbatha will be joining the team at the start of the new season," the insider told the Siya crew.

In addition to his anticipated return, a second insider disclosed that Mbatha has already been assisting the club informally.

"As far as we know there were other things that Senzo was helping the team with. I can't exactly say what it was but during some of the CAF Champions League games he was hands on with the team. But it's believed that he will be returning full-time to the club next season," the second insider revealed.

Mbatha is a seasoned administrator with a wealth of experience in both local and international football. He has worked with South African clubs such as Bay United (now Polokwane City), University of Pretoria, and Platinum Stars. Internationally, he served as the CEO of Tanzanian giants Yanga SC and Simba SC and has also worked with the Botswana Football Association.

Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment on this development, but no response was received at the time of publication.

The Siya crew had already reported recently how Mbele is expected to return to Pirates.
