Orlando Pirates have provided crucial update about attacker Thembinkosi Lorch ahead of this evening's clash against Baroka FC.
After being excluded from the squad that reported for the biologically safe environment along with Zambian forward Justin Shonga for a breach of the team's protocols, Lorch has now been allowed to join the squad in the bio-bubble – the Buccaneers have confirmed.
"Thembinkosi Lorch has been cleared to return to the squad following the finalisation of the disciplinary proceedings against him and the lifting of his suspension by the Club," Pirates confirmed on the club's official website.
"Lorch has pleaded guilty to all charges that were brought against him by the Club. Lorch further apologised for his misdemeanor and has accepted the sanction imposed on him by the Club," the club statement reads.
"The 25-year-old has joined the squad in the BSE Bubble after undergoing his two COVID-19 tests as per the protocols," confirmed Bucs.
The club has confirmed that Shonga remains suspended.
"The Club can confirm that Justin Shonga remains suspended as he awaits the finalisation of the disciplinary proceedings against him," the Buccaneers confirmed.
