An Orlando Pirates defender has become the latest player from the Soweto giants to be linked with a move to Chippa United.
With game time still hard to come by for him under new coach Josef Zinnbauer, as it has been the case under previous coaches since his arrival at the club, Asavela Mbekile is linked with an exit from Pirates.
According to Siya sources, there is a possibility that Mbekile could be sent to Chippa on loan during the current January transfer window.
The 33-year-old has made only one start and one substitute appearance during the Buccaneers' Absa Premiership campaign.
With Chippa coach Norman Mapeza keen on adding talent and experience to his squad as the team continues to improve under the Zimbabwean's mentorship, Mbekile is said to be one of the players targeted from Pirates for a switch to the Eastern Cape.
As reported by the Siya crew, Tebogo Tlolane and Bongani Sam are the other Pirates players that have been linked with Chippa, while the Chilli Boys currently have the likes of Tercious Malepe, Meshack Maphangule and Sandile Mthethwa on loan from Pirates.
