Pirates parted ways with one of the successful coaches at the club in their history, after Jose Riveiro was lured away by Al Ahly.

The Spaniard had a contract that was set to expire at the end of the season and the Soweto giants were unable to keep the Vigo native, who had built his name after winning five trophies with Ezimnyama in three years.
Under Riveiro, The Ghosts finished second in the Betway Premiership for three successive seasons and were starting to make progress in challenging the dominance of Mamelodi Sundowns of the Premiership.
With the Soweto giants having the pressure to sustain the level built by Riveiro, Zwane has suggested what kind of coach his former club should go for.
"I think they need somebody experienced, if they are not experienced they should be tough! I think that's the thing with Riveiro, when he came he was soft spoken, he's young and people thought 'Ah this guy is a softie'," Zwane told Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview.
"They started labelling him a plumber and so on. What they didn't know was this guy behind the scenes was very tough! Very tough with the players and that's what Pirates needs (In search of a new coach).

"A big team like Pirates you need a very strong character in the change room, I think Pirates know that. They've had local coaches given a chance but they were just not able to deliver," Zwane said.
"They know what needs to be done, that's why we hear talk of very experienced local coaches or very experienced coaches from abroad that are in the running for the job. I think the management understands that very well," the former Bucs defender added.
