The centre-back last played an official game for Pirates in November last year. Sangweni will be turning 35 later this year.
The former Golden Arrows player will be hoping to come back strong for a chance to convince the technical team and management that he still has a role to play at Pirates, following his struggles with multiple injuries in recent seasons.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Nedbank Cup's Soweto Derby for Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend, Tinkler confirmed about Sangweni's unavailability and also gave an update on Oupa Manyisa, Rooi Mahamutsa and Happy Jele.
