Nedbank Cup Last 32

Result: Chippa United 2-3 Baroka FC

Date: 06 March 2016

Venue: Buffalo City Stadium

Chippa United were dumped out of the Nedbank Cup, after losing 3-2 to NFD outfit, Baroka FC, at the Buffalo City Stadium.

Despite the lack of goal-scoring chances in the opening 20 minutes, the encounter still provided some entertainment, with some neat touches on display.

Baroka took the lead in the 27th minute, as Jacky Motshegwa's free-kick from the edge of the box took a big deflection off the wall and sailed into the far corner.

The NFD outfit doubled their advantage three minutes later, as Loyiso Simandla did well to evade Daniel Akpeyi's challenge, before poking into an empty net.

Chippa managed to reduce the deficit just before the halftime break, as Andile Mbenyane showed good control in the box, before clinically slotting pass Veli Mothwa.

The visitors extended their advantage in the 61st minute, as Motshegwa did well to create space for himself, before firing a fine finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, 3-1.

Chippa reduced the deficit three minutes later, as Rhulani Manzini pounced on an error from the Baroka goalkeeper and tapped into an empty net.

The hosts pushed for an equaliser but were wasteful in the 76th minute, as Lerato Chabangu blasted over the crossbar from close range.

Chippa substitute Dylan Goss nearly scored with his first touch in the 84th minute but his header was superbly turned away by Mothwa.

Thamsanqa Sangweni should have leveled matters in the 89th minute, but the midfielder blasted over the crossbar from six-yards out, as Baroka held on for a famous win.

Here's how they lined up:

Chippa United: Akpeyi, Macheke, Okwuosa, Cloete, Chipeta, Mlambo, Zuke, Sangweni, Manzini, Mbenyane, Bance

Baroka: Mothwa, Ntsoane, Nkabinde, Shaku, Rhavhuali, Mtshali, Simandla, Motshegwa, Magaka, Mokondelela, Sangweni
