Kaizer Chiefs Haven't Won The Nedbank Cup Since 2013

2014 - Semis - Lost to Wits
Amakhosi Move - Venue Switch Confirmed
Chiefs face ABC Motsepe League side, The Magic FC, in this weekend's Round of 16 clash in Port Elizabeth, and Ernst Middendorp knows what is at stake as the club look to win the tournament for the first time since lifting it in 2013 under Stuart Baxter.
Chiefs have an impressive record in the South African FA Cup under its different names over the years – they've won it 13 times, five more than any other club – however, have surprisingly only lifted the Nedbank trophy on the one occasion. They've also appeared in more finals than anybody else (18).
Now though, having not reached the final since that win almost six years ago, Middendorp will have his eyes focused on avoiding Sunday's potential banana skin and securing their spot in the quarter-finals of the competition for the third consecutive year.
With Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns already out, do Chiefs fans fancy their chances that this could be their year once more?
Given the fact that Kaizer Chiefs are seventh in the Absa Premiership and nine points off the league leaders, the Nedbank Cup could be their last shot at redemption for the 2018/19 season.

The Glamour Boys are currently experiencing the worst trophy drought in their history having gone nearly four years now without picking up any silverware, however still harbour hopes of that coming to an end before this campaign is over.
